PARTICIPATION
To be in a relationship with Jesus Christ and His Father, Yahweh, is without a doubt the greatest thing an individual can experience. Has the reader any idea why this is true?
Think about how you entered into this relationship with the Godhead. You either heard a gospel presentation or you read the scriptures yourself and came into a realization of the truth of God’s love for mankind. You then believed the message that you heard or read.
“God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son.” John 3:16
This Scripture tells me that as part of the world (mankind) I was and am an object of God’s love. Let that thought permeate your heart and mind.
Note Webster’s Dictionary definition of love . . . “1. a deep and tender feeling of affection for or attachment or devotion to a person or persons.” To expand this idea in our minds, let’s define “a deep and tender feeling”. God has a deep and tender feeling that is found in His mental and emotional being. He desires to be at one with humanity! What indeed can I do but praise Him for the love He has toward each one of us?
See the following verses that should solidify in our minds and heart the love God has for us.
- Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us . . . ” How was this accomplished? “Christ died for us.”
Even though we were sinners, God loved us!
- Ephesians 2:4 “But God being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us.”
God knowing the afflictions and suffering of man still gives undeserved kindness and forgiveness to those who do not deserve it.
- 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 “Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.”
Now we could continue with this subject of God’s love for us, however where would we be ble to come to a conclusion concerning His love? THERE IS NO END TO HIS LOVE!
God has given us His life and love. Can I – WE – return this love to Him?
We can.
2 Thessalonians 2:17 “comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.”
Indeed, we as believers can partner with our great God and Savior by becoming a Living and a Holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Romans 12:1
